What type are you?

A Jaguar E-Type roadster has been entered into the Charterhouse specialist auction of classic and vintage cars at Sherborne Castle on Sunday 15th July.

“The Jaguar E-Type is in every car collector’s top 10 list of iconic cars.” Commented Matthew Whitney. “With beauty, high performance and competitive pricing they were an instant success for Jaguar in 1961 and just recently we have seen the E-Type feature in the press again at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle which the newly married couple drove off from the wedding in.”

The Jaguar E-Type entered into the Charterhouse auction is a 1969 Series II roadster. Finished in Old English white with a contrasting dark blue hood and matching leather interior it also has chrome wire wheels and a rare works hard top.

With just over 79,000 recorded miles from new there is a pile of paperwork and receipts to substantiate this. Over the past 5 years the car has had £20,000 lavished on it by the owner including an engine and suspension rebuild, a brake overhaul, a new windscreen and door glass along with other work carried out.

Now on the button, this iconic British sports car is estimated to sell for £80,000-90,000* when it goes under the Charterhouse hammer.

Charterhouse are now accepting further entries for this 15th July auction of classic and vintage cars.at Sherborne Castle and classic motorcycles for their auction at Netley Marsh on 29th August. They are also taking pictures, books, maps and antiques for their 27th July.
